Why do we need donations and what do we do with the money?
Every day CBU actively works to prevent the Forest Service from restricting our access and closing off recreational lands. We’ve hired a full time attorney to fight forest closures across the entire state. Whether it’s 100 page appeals (just one of the 125 appeals filed for the GNF travel plan), or our effort to keep the latest wilderness bill (HR 1204) from closing off more land to us, it takes a constant financial commitment.
We testify in Helena during the legislative process, continually contact both Montana and national elected officials, and tirelessly keep track of local, regional, and national data that affects trail closures.
Getting the message across requires printed materials, web direct communications with legislators, and consistent changes on the web to keep up with this dynamic issue.
We’ve set the goal of $100,000 to fight the closures in the Gallatin National Forest proposed for this November.
Your donation to our non-profit effort is tax deductible (EIN#20-2858176) and critical for our fight to keep trails open.
Thank you.
